Stepping Into The Future
The Signature Umbrella Program of The Denver Links

at Hallett Fundamental Academy in Denver

Since 2009, the Denver Chapter’s main service focus has been our “Stepping into the Future” at Hallet Fundamental Academy, a Denver Public School (DPS). Hallet is located in the Park Hill area of the city and supports a high-student population that is 96% minority and has 84% of students receiving free or reduced lunch services.  In 2010-2011, Hallett was rated “red” by Denver Public Schools and was in facing possible closure due to low test scores. Today, Hallett Fundamental Academy has a “green” rating, and was recognized as a top 10 school for improvement in test scores and academic growth on state tests.

Hallett staff and the Denver Public Schools (DPS) Schools have recognized the contribution of the Denver Links to the overall improvements in the school. According to a survey completed by Hallett teachers, there has been an observable increase in positive behaviors, cultural awareness, and art appreciation as a result of participation in our Program.
